Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 18, 2026

1. Introduction

Web3Legal ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI legal document workspace at web3legal.app and related services.

Web3Legal was founded by a legal practitioner with more than 15 years of legal experience. Our goal is to build a decentralized, AI-powered legal services platform for lawyers working in small to medium-sized firms, small in-house legal teams, and sole practitioners who do not have the resources of a large in-house department, a big law firm, or a major legal-AI vendor.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:

  • Email address and account credentials
  • Documents you upload, generate, or edit
  • Chat conversations with our AI assistant
  • Third-party model-provider API keys you choose to store (encrypted at rest)
  • Usage data and preferences within the service

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Process your requests and transactions
  • Send you technical notices and support messages
  • Respond to your comments and questions
  • Develop new features and functionality

We do not use your documents, chat conversations, prompts, or other content to train our own AI models.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With your consent
  • To comply with legal obligations or court orders
  • To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property
  • With service providers who assist in our operations

5. Third-Party Processors and AI Routing

To operate the Service, we rely on third-party infrastructure providers. Your account information, documents, prompts, chat content, and related usage data may be processed, stored, or transmitted by these providers on our behalf, including for authentication, hosting, database services, and document storage.

When you use AI features, your prompts and relevant document content are routed to the large language model provider selected for your request — for example, a built-in provider made available through the Service or a third-party model provider whose API key you choose to connect. Processing by those providers is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Categories of third-party processors we use include:

  • Authentication and database services (e.g., Supabase)
  • Application hosting and content delivery (e.g., Cloudflare)
  • Document and file storage (e.g., Cloudflare R2)
  • AI model providers (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, or a provider you connect with your own API key)

We may update the specific providers we use from time to time. If you connect your own model-provider API key, you are responsible for reviewing that provider's data practices, including whether it uses your content for model training or retention.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and receive a copy of your data
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict data processing
  • Data portability

9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect and track information about your usage of our service. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

10. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
